Welcome to Open Gard
Experience the open farm at Blakstad On selected Sundays throughout the year we open our doors and welcome the whole family to us. Here, children can greet the animals and join in on fun care and various activities.
Open Farm is a relaxed and informal experience with close proximity to both animals and nature. You don't need to book in advance - just show up!
Prices vary depending on the season and what is happening on the farm. Follow our Facebook page for information about the next open day, program and current prices. We are open all year for private farm visits, so just get in touch.
Farm visits for kindergarten and school
We invite kindergartens and school classes to eventful days filled with traditions and animal contact. The visit is tailored to the age group and can include everything from caring for animals to old craft traditions.
This is what children can experience with us:
Meet the animals: Up close contact with alpacas, old Norwegian sheep, woolly pigs, Icelandic horses, miniature pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits and turkeys. We offer care, feeding and riding.
Traditional crafts: Try diving into the forge, carding wool or joining in on the flatbread baking.
Farm games: Physical activity with traditional games adapted to the children's age.
Lunch break: You can bring your own lunch or have food served from the farm. We have good outdoor areas with gazebos, as well as sheltered rooms inside the Barn or Cellar in case of bad weather.
Price and information
Price: NOK 100 per child (additional and accompanying persons are free).
Minimum price: We have a minimum price of NOK 2,000 per visit. This ensures that we can maintain a high standard of activities and animal care for each individual group.
For larger groups (over 20 children) we will contact you for a special offer.
Children's birthday
Invite your animals to a birthday party! At Blakstad Farm, children can celebrate their birthday in beautiful, rural surroundings. We create a very special setting for the day with fun activities and close proximity to the animals on the farm.
You can add your birthday to "Open Gard" on Sundays, or choose a weekday (Monday–Thursday). Contact us for a pleasant chat about prices and arrangements.
